Behavior Technician Job Description

Summary

A Behavior Technician or Registered Behavior Technician (“BT” or “RBT”) is responsible for implementation of environmental modifications, using behavioral stimuli and consequences, to produce socially significant improvement in human behavior for the purpose of providing behavioral health treatment for persons with autism, autism spectrum disorders and related disorders.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Core duties and responsibilities of a BT/RBT include those set forth below. Other employment tasks may be assigned.

  • Provide direct behavioral therapy services to clients in individual sessions. Groups sessions may also be assigned.

  • Adhere to and support the company's policies and procedures.

  • Work with Board Certified Behavior Analysts and/or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts to implement individualized treatment plans.

  • Collect thorough and accurate data in accordance with The Learning Tree ABA, LLC’s policies.

  • Complete and submit session notes (related to implementation of the treatment plan) as instructed.

  • Support the family and other caregivers in implementing the behavioral support strategies in the plan.

  • Maintain and protect the well-being of all clients during treatment sessions and when emergency crisis situations arise.

  • Communicate any changes in schedule or availability to supervisor in a timely manner.

  • Notify The Learning Tree ABA, LLC office of any issues or concerns related to any case.

 

Supervisee Responsibilities

Each BT/RBT shall participate with their immediate BCBA supervisor. The BT/RBT will communicate any changes of availability as well as any concerns or changes in the implementation of the behavior plan created for the assigned client(s).

 

Qualifications

Employee must possess a high school diploma and must be at least 18 years of age. Employee who are not yet Registered Behavior Technicians must be willing to complete an RBT course within the first 3 months of employment at The Learning Tree ABA, LLC (“The Learning Tree”).  Employee must supply evidence of current automobile insurance (if applicable) and continue to provide evidence insurance renewals as required by law and/or The Learning Tree.
